Elvis, Mojo, and the Kids

It’s very cool when my kids get into music I like. I love it at night when I can hear the 10 year old listening to classical as the 6 year old listens to Neil Young. Miss Ava discovered and purchased Falco‘s “Rock Me Amadeus”; she musta caught my 1980’s vibe I was riding earlier that week… ahhhh English Beat and Billy Idol, with a dash of Bangles.

Ava’s Elvis Presley report for school prompted my downloading of Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper’s “Elvis is Everywhere” (1987) from iTunes. The kids LOVED it and laughed their keister’s off, especially with “Elvis needs boats. Elvis needs boats…”; I laughed mine off watching them react. Ah sweet new memories with Mojo.

The song is much better when you can crank it, but here is the good ole, low-budget, having a good time, 1987 music video.
